I am delighted to be in the Open Eye Gallery’s On a Small Scale Exhibition 2023

This is an online exhibition of A5 pieces submitted by the Open Eye’s artists, creating a gallery of affordable art, just in time for Christmas. I have worked on four pieces for the exhibition, these are each mounted onto an A5 board. I like to float mount these in a box frame, it’s a lovely way to frame them.

I really loved working on these autumnal fruits and nuts. One thing that I love about botanical art is that you  become very closely exposed to a specimen that you may never have paid much attention to before, and suddenly you are ‘in love’ with it. Which is how I feel about these acorns, oak leaves, acer samara and rose hips! I’m going to have to get the Rosa pimpinellifolia for our garden!
