York Gate Garden, July – Dec 2026

I’m excited to announce a display of my botanical paintings in the lovely cafe at York Gate Garden, featuring my Arisaema & fern paintings and a couple of other works, including one unshown for a number of years.

How did this happen, I hear you ask? Well, aroid and general weird & wonderful plant enthusiast, Head Gardener at York Gate, Jack Ogg got in touch with me to see if I might be interested in exhibiting in their cafe. Alex and I took the opportunity to visit in March when we were down in Yorkshire meeting with the MŌR Studio*, and we fell in love with the garden, and the lovely team who work there. It’s is a real plants persons garden, its beautifully planted & landscaped, and there are many rare and exciting plants, there has been geeking out about Arisaema and Aroids, and much plant love in general.

The garden at York Gate is a beautiful 1 acre garden, designed with winding paths, shady spots, sunny terraces, and traditional potager, all set around an Arts & Crafts House, it is one of the suite of  Perennial Gardens, Perennial supports all professional horticulturists, providing free, confidential financial, health, and wellbeing support. so it is lovely to be in association with them, and they also sell some of my cards in their shops and online.

As well as the garden, there is the cafe, shop and plant sale, with seasonal plants grown on site. It’s really worth a visit if you are in the area, and if you live nearby, you are so lucky!
*For a perfect day out in Yorkshire, visit both!

The hang… and relax after

Alex and I have been doing this for a while now, so we are quite proficient & efficient, however the drive down and back in a day was a bit of marathon so we enjoyed a bit of piece and quiet in the garden after before we made our way back up north.
