A belated Happy New Year to everyone!

I have two exhibitions lined up for 2018 so far. The first is the very exciting worldwide Day of Botanical Art, aiming to raise the profile of botanical art, artists, institutions and organisations around the world. The second, I am delighted to be able to exhibit for the first time at the Pittenweem Arts Festival.

A worldwide Day of Botanical Art will be held on May 18, 2018
Botanical Art Worldwide is a groundbreaking international collaboration of botanical artists, organisations, and institutions from 23 countries (so far) creating and exhibiting artworks of rare or common native plants found in each country.

In Scotland we will be participating in an exhibition at the Royal Botanic Garden Edinburgh which runs through April and May. On the 18th May, which has been designated as a worldwide day of botanic art, there will be events including a slideshow display and broadcasts from the other participating countries showcasing their artists, institutions and organisations . Watch this space for details…

Pittenweem Arts Festival, from August 3rd to August 12th

I will be exhibiting in a house down on the West Shore (number 4) with 3 other artists and creators, I am busy getting organised and working out how to pull a solo exhibition together! (With the generous help of family and friends, thank you Mum and Alex!).

The arts festival has been running for over 35 years situated in the fishing village of Pittenweem on the coast of Fife. It’s a great experience as the art is displayed in the houses, cottages, galleries and other interesting venues (netting sheds, for example). Its a great day out, exploring the wynds and popping in and out of kooky venues in and around the harbor, along the cost and up the hill in to town. Pittenweem attracts very well regarded artists from a wide range of visual arts – come along and enjoy an explore!
