Join me in lovely Carlops on the side of the Pentland Hills, for a weekend of botanical painting and yoga, designed to ease your mind and body.
This is my first teaching event of the year, exciting!!! I have long wanted to do a combo weekend where we work together on botanical painting technique, and then ease it all out with some specific yoga work. I use yoga in my practice to ease out my drawing and painting arm, loosen up my back and get the blood flow going again. I am looking forward to inviting you to my studio to learn botanical drawing and painting techniques and to develop your existing skills.
Alex is making delicious home cooked lunches, please let us know if you have any food intolerances.
Studio sessions
Saturday – 10.30am to 4.30pm – Pick your subject, we’ll practice measured and freehand drawing, to see what suits you, we’ll colour match and maybe start painting.
Sunday – 10.15am to 4.15pm – We’ll spend the day painting, working on technique, washes and dry brush.
Yoga sessions
Delivered by Linda Shand in our Village Hall, I practice with Linda weekly; she knows where I get tight and knotted!
Suitable for beginners to advanced, mats and blocks can be provided.
Saturday – 4.45pm to 6pm – End of the day session, wind down & relax
Sunday – 8.45am to 10am – Begin the day, stretch out hands, arms, shoulders, backs, hips get ready for a day of focused observation & painting.
Location:
Carlops is on the side of the Pentland Hills, about 25 minutes from Edinburgh city centre. It is lush and green, and if the weather is good, we should be able to go for a couple of walks to take in the countryside and stretch our legs. Alex and I are currently developing our garden, part of it is newly developed and planted, and a larger part is in development. We hope you’ll love the bit that is done and not mind too much about the on-going bit (-_-)
